Day 1
- 09:00
Check in & settle
~30 minDrop your bags at your Midtown hotel and take a few minutes to orient yourself before heading out into the city.
- 09:30
Empire State Building
~45 minStart at street level before the crowds thicken — the limestone and chrome tower is most impressive from the sidewalk, neck craned to catch the radio mast vanishing into the sky above 34th Street. Walk a full block around it to take in every angle of the Art Deco detailing.

- 10:15
Flatiron Building & Madison Square
~40 minWalk south to the triangular slice of the Flatiron, where Broadway and Fifth Avenue collide at 23rd Street. The building is best read from the small plaza across the way — its tapered limestone prow looks almost impossibly thin. Stroll the park alongside it to let the proportions sink in.

- 11:00
Grand Central Terminal
~50 minHead northeast on foot or by subway to Grand Central. Stand on the Main Concourse floor and look up — the turquoise ceiling constellation is one of the most quietly spectacular rooms in New York. The Beaux-Arts façade on 42nd Street is worth a long look on the way in.

- 12:00
Lunch at La Pecora Bianca
~60 minA short walk up Madison Avenue brings you to La Pecora Bianca, a bright Italian spot with a menu built around seasonal produce and house-made pasta. A solid mid-morning refuel before the afternoon push into the park.

- 13:15
Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum
~90 minFrank Lloyd Wright's inverted spiral on Fifth Avenue is the destination — the building itself is as much the exhibition as anything on its walls. Walk the continuous ramp from top to bottom and let the modern and contemporary collection unfold around the open rotunda.

- 14:45
Walk through Central Park
~60 minStep off Fifth Avenue into the park for an unhurried afternoon wander south through the Conservatory Garden or along the Reservoir path. No agenda, just space — one of the rare moments in Manhattan when the city recedes entirely.
- 16:30
Cross the Brooklyn Bridge on foot
~45 minTake the subway down to City Hall and join the wooden pedestrian walkway above the traffic. The views of the Manhattan skyline opening behind you as you cross are the payoff — give yourself time to stop at the mid-span towers.

- 18:30
Dinner at The River Café
~120 minLand in Brooklyn Heights and follow the waterfront path to The River Café, where candlelit tables inside a converted barge face the illuminated Manhattan skyline across the East River. The setting does the talking; the kitchen does the rest. Worth reserving well in advance.
