Day 1
- 10:00
Arrive & Check In
~30 minDrop your bags at your Lisbon base — somewhere central works well for reaching any of the coastal train lines within minutes. The beach calls, so keep the unpacking brief.
- 10:30
Morning at Praia de Carcavelos
~180 minCarcavelos is the city's great open stretch — a wide arc of pale sand that gives you room to spread out, wade in gradually and let the Atlantic wash the journey off you. The waves here have enough roll to body-surf without demanding serious skill. Grab a spot, order from a beach kiosk and spend the morning doing very little at pace.

- 13:30
Lunch: Aqui há Peixe
~75 minBack in the city for a lunch built around the catch of the day. Aqui há Peixe in Chiado takes its name literally — 'there is fish here' — and delivers on the promise with a menu that shifts with what came in from the coast that morning. A good reward after a salt-water morning.
- 15:00
A Quick Walk Through Rossio Square
~25 minRossio is the old pulse of the lower city — wave-pattern cobbles underfoot, a column at its centre and the afternoon crowd doing what Lisboetas do best: nothing with great purpose. A gentle 20-minute stroll to let lunch settle before the next stretch of coast.

- 15:30
Late Afternoon: Praia da Cruz Quebrada
~120 minCruz Quebrada is quieter and more intimate than Carcavelos — a riverside-meets-estuary beach where the light in the late afternoon turns the water a deep copper. Ideal for a second swim or simply to sit on the sand while the day cools down around you.

- 20:00
Sunset Dinner: Clube de Fado
~120 minEnd the first day in Alfama, where Clube de Fado has been the city's most considered address for traditional Portuguese food and live fado performance. The room is stone-walled and candlelit — a complete contrast to the open beach hours just behind you — and the guitar starts as dinner deepens.
